OFFICIAL: Al Ahly trio Ashour, Ali, Hany extend contracts
The news comes just two days after winger Walid Soliman managed to agree to renew his expiring contract with the league leaders until the summer of 2020.
Ashour, who never wore another club’s shirt, playing for the Red Devils since 2004, has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
The team captain has made 464 appearances for the club and has been a regular this season, starting 15 games and helping the team win the Egyptian Super Cup and top the league table.
He has won 33 trophies since his promotion to the first team, including 10 league titles, five CAF Champions League titles, three Egypt Cups, five CAF Super Cups, one Confederation Cup and nine Egyptian Super Cup titles.
Meanwhile, right-backs Mohamed Hany and Bassem Ali have also put pen to paper on new contracts at the club.
Bassem Ali has joined Al Ahly from Arab Contractors in July 2014, making 65 appearances and winning two league titles, the 2017 Egypt Cup, two Egyptian Super Cups and one Confederation Cup.
While 21-year-old Mohamed Hany has been promoted to the first-team in 2014 and has made 79 appearances since then. He has won two league titles and one Egypt Cup during his time at the club.
The new deals tie Bassem Ali and Mohamed Hany to the Red Devils until 2022 and 2023 respectively and the duo will hope to win more trophies with the Cairo giants.
