Saphir Taider signs for Montreal Impact as a designated player


Algeria international and former Inter player is the designated player signed by ahead of the season start. 

Montreal Impact signed Taider on a two-year loan with an option to extend the contract for extra season.

The Serie A resident, representing four Italian sides since seasons 2011/2012 decided to leave his beloved league to play MLS football.

Taider is a representative of pure calcio, with tactical intelligence, the ability to run his socks to defend his team team and hit hard on counter attacks.

He has 42 caps for the Algerian national team, including a participation in two World Cup fixtures in the last version of the competition in 2014.

With all the years he spent in Italy and a season of Premier League under his belt, Taider will be wearing Montreal Impact’s no 8 hoping to make the difference for the Canadian side.

The Algerian will be facing two Pharaohs in his new adventure this season, namely Aly Ghazal at Vancouver Whitecaps’ and Omar Gaber at Los Angeles Football Club.
