Al Ahly rules out move for Raja Casablanca’s Badr Banoun
Al Ahly’s footballing director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz has confirmed that Raja Casablanca’s center-back Badr Banoun will not be joining the Red Devils amid rumors of a potential move.
Speaking to a TV program on HBC channel, Abdel-Hafiz has completely ruled out the idea of signing the Moroccan defender and this comes down to Al Ahly already having four foreign players.
It’s worth mentioning that the Egyptian Football Association allows every club to have no more than four foreign players. Al Ahly’s current squad already have four foreign players in Tunisia international Ali Maaloul, Nigeria’s Junior Ajayi, Walid Azaro of Morroco and the South African Phakamani Mahalambi.
Abdel-Hafiz has also implied that Al-Ahly could be in for Smouha’s defensive duo Yasser Ibrahim and Abdallah Bakry, but there is still nothing official yet.
Al Ahly host second-placed Ismaily on Tuesday and look to extend their lead to cement their place at the top of the league table.
