Saudi side Al Nassr linked with move for Al Ahly’s Walid Azarou
Al Ahly top goalscorer Walid Azarou could be set for a move to Saudi Arabia to link with former team-mate Hossam Ghaly at Al Nassr.
The Morocco international joined the Red Devils from Difaa El Jadida last summer, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists in 26 games.
He had emerged as a transfer target for a number of Ligue 1 clubs, namely Dijon and Montpellier HSC, but Al Ahly rejected all offers for him as he is considered as a key player at the club.
However, according to Saudi website Alkebar.com, Al Nassr have made an approach for Walid Azarou as they seek to bring in a new striker before the end of January. The website also revealed that the Saudi side have contacted Al Ahly regarding a potential deal for the 22-year-old.
Azarou is currently Al Ahly’s top goalscorer with 11 goals and is third on the Egyptian Premier League’s top scorers list, only behind Misr El-Makkasa’s John Antwi and Omar El-Said of Entag El Harby.
Al Ahly are currently top of the Egyptian Premier League with 48 points, six above second-placed Ismaily, who will they face next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Al Nasr sit fourth in the Saudi Professional League with 27 points, eight behind leaders Al Hilal, and their next game will be against Al Taawon on Tuesday, January 30.
