OFFICIAL: Zamalek sign FC Masr defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghany
Zamalek President Mortada Mansour has presented the White Knights’ newest signing during the press conference which was held on Saturday. He revealed that the player will participate in the club’s training sessions starting from tomorrow, Sunday, January 28.
The 24-year-old could be a possible replacement for Ali Gabr at Zamalek after Mortada announced the departure of the international defender on loan to English side West Bromwich Albion.
Abdel-Ghany was also a target for both Al Ahly and Smouha during this transfer window, however, the Reds’ manager Hossam El-Badry revealed the centre-back is too inexperienced to join them.
Abdel-Ghany will join Mahmoud Alaa, Mahmoud Hamdi, Mohamed Magdy and Islam Gamal as Ehab Galal’s defensive options as the club looking to finish in the top four this season.
He becomes Zamalek’s fourth signing in the January transfer window after Misr El-Makkasa’s duo Nana Poku and Emad Fathi and Tunisia international Hamdi Nagguez.
Zamalek are currently fifth in the Egyptian Premier League with 32 points, 16 behind leaders Al Ahly, and their next game will be against Ehab Galal’s former side ENPPI on Wednesday, January 31.
