Al Nassr have officially signed international midfielder from Esperance de Tunis for a fee around £2.49 million.

The transfer comes after reports emerged that Al Nassr have terminated Egyptian midfielder  contract, which could happen as the Saudi side will need to sell one foreign player to register Sassi.

Sassi played 15 matches this season in Tunisia’s Ligue Professionelle 1, scoring four goals and assisting in three. He previously played for CS Sfaxien and French tier FC Metz.

In addition to taking part in Esperance’s league title win last season and winning Tunisian Cup in the 2015/16 season, he is also an essential part of the Tunisian national team squad led by coach Nabil Maaloul.

Al Nassr currently sit fourth in the Saudi Professional League with 27 points, nine behind leaders Al Hilal. Their next game will be against Al Taawon on Tuesday, January 30.
