Al Ahly duo El-Sayed, Barakat join Saudi sides on loan
El-Sayed joins Al Ettifaq on loan while Barakat completes a move to Al Shabab. The two players have also extended their Al Ahly contracts for another two seasons.
Both players were set to join Smouha on loan after having been deemed as surplus by Hossam El Badry. However, the Smouha president announced that the moves had fallen through last week.
El-Sayed and Barakat join four other Al Ahly players currently on loan at Saudi sides, namely Ahmed El-Sheikh at Al Ettifaq, Mo’men Zakaria at Al Ahli, Emad Meteb at Al Taawoun, and Saleh Gomaa at Al Faisaly.
El-Sayed made 49 appearances for the Red Devils where he scored four goals. The 26-year-old left-back joins Ettifaq, which sit in the relegation zone with 16 points from 17 games.
Meanwhile, Barakat, who made just four appearances and scored two goals with the Red Devils, will be playing at fifth-placed Al Shabab.
