scored as Al Ahli managed to pull a comeback and beat Al Shabab 3-2 in matchday 19 of the Saudi Professional League.

The Al Ahly loanee started on the bench, before being introduced in the 57th minute and score his side’s equaliser in the 88th minute.

Al Shabab made an electrifying start to the game as they scored two early goals before the 15-minute mark, translating the early dominance.

The first goal came after 12 minutes from a quick play that tricked Al Ahli players on the right side. Abdulwahab Jafar received the ball after a one-two play and created a neat cross to Mohamed Benyettou, who netted the first. Two minutes later, Hattan Bahebri doubled his side’s lead from a counter-attack, making it 2-0.

Al Shabab came close to making it 3-0, when Hassan Muath had a shot from around 35 yards, but Al Ahli keeper Al Owais made a good save, before saving Beneyttou’s rebound shot again.

Ioannis Fetfatzidis pulled one back for Al Ahli in the 41st minute from the spot, ending the first-half 2-1.

In the 57th minute, Saleh El-Amary left the pitch for Momen Zakaria and the Egyptian was the savior for his side, when he netted the equaliser in the 88th minute. He hit Mohanad Aseri’s pass on the volley, but it was blocked by the defender before finding the net from the rebound.

The referee added four minutes of stoppage time, and Al Ahli managed to get the three points when Mohanad Aseri converted Said Al Mowalad’s cross into the net and secured the three points for the Jeddah based side.

Al Ahli currently sit second with 37 points, two points behind leader Al Hilal. Their next encounter will be a Jeddah derby against Kahraba’s side Al Ittihad on the 4th of February.
