Official: Al-Nassr terminate Hossam Ghaly’s contract by mutual consent
Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr have terminated the contract of Egypt’s Hossam Ghaly by mutual consent, the club announced on Monday night.
Ghaly has left Al-Nassr less than six months after joining the club on a one-year contract from Cairo giants Al Ahly. During his short stint at the Saudi side, the veteran midfielder made a total of 13 appearances, 12 in the Saudi Pro League and a single appearance in the King’s Cup.
Earlier this week, Saudi news reports revealed that the former Al Ahly midfielder met with Al-Nassr’s board and agreed on terminating his contract before the club confirmed the news in an official statement on Monday.
Saudi reports have linked Ghaly with a move to Al-Fateh, who currently sit in eighth position with 22 points. However, Nader Shawky, agent of Ghaly, said that the player has turned down Al-Fateh’s offer.
Shawky also hinted at the possible return of the 36-year-old player to his boyhood club Al Ahly.
“Ghaly will return to Cairo in few hours. We are yet to decide about his future. Al Ahly is his home of course and he’d like to continue his career there. He already rejected a big-money offer from Saudi side Al-Nassr,” Shawky said.
