Official: Saleh Gomaa joins Saudi side Al Faisaly on loan from Al Ahly
Gomaa, who has been linked with a move to the Saudi side earlier in the transfer window, has also extended his contract with Al Ahly for another two seasons.
The 24-year-old had fallen out of favor with Al Ahly coach Hossam El Badry. As a result of his dissatisfaction, Gomaa has had increasing number of discipline issues leading to multiple fines.
Al Faisaly’s president previously revealed his club’s desire to sign the out of favor midfielder. However, Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib, denied the club received any offers for the player.
Last week, Gomaa confirmed his desire to remain with the Red Devils and his rejection to all the offers he received from Portugal and the Gulf leagues.
Gomaa played 59 games with Al Ahly across all competitions since joining in 2015. He scored 11 goals in his time with the Red Devils.
Al Faisaly currently sit in third place in the Saudi Pro League ahead of Al-Nassr and Al Ittihad. The Harmah-based club have 30 points from 18 games after their 2-2 draw with Al Feiha on Monday. They will next face Al Taawoun in the 20th week of the league on February 3.
