OFFICIAL: Saudi side Al-Ettifaq sign Fakhreddine Ben Youssef

Espérance and Tunisian international has joined Saudi side , the club announced on Wednesday.

The Tunisian forward moved to Espérance at the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign from French side FC Metz. Since his transfer, Ben Youssef made 55 appearances for the Tunis-based club across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and assisting another three.

The 26-year-old also made 24 appearances for Tunisia’s national team, most recently in their last four games in World Cup qualifying. Ben Youssef scored four goals for the Eagles of Carthage including one against Egypt in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifying.

He is, however, currently out with a fracture in his toe and isn’t expected to return until the end of February.

The move comes as Al-Ettifaq currently sit in the relegation zone with just 16 points from 17 games after the 1-1 draw with Al-Batin on Monday.

In efforts to secure a spot in the top flight next season, Al Ettifaq recently completed the signings of Al Ahly duo Ahmed El-Sheikh and Hussein El-Sayed. The Dammam-based club has also signed Algerian keeper Raïs M’Bolhi.

Al-Ettifaq are preparing to face Al-Fateh on February 3 as part of the 20th week of the .
