El-Badry names squad to face Saudi Pro League

manager Hossam El-Badry has announced a 21-man squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia to face all-star team on Friday.

The Cairo giants are set to face the all-star team in a farewell match for former Saudi Arabia international Fuad Anwar. The former Al-Shabab and Al-Nassr player featured for the Green Falcons in 112 matches, scoring 44 goals and being a part of the Saudi squad in the 1994 and 1998 World Cups.

El-Badry excluded a number of the regular players including Mohamed El-Shennawy, Abdallah El-Said, Ahmed Fathi, Amr El-Sulaya, Junior Ajayi as well as new signing Salah Mohsen from the trip.

Full Squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ali Lotfy, Ramadan Mostafa.

Defenders: Sabry Rahil, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Naguib, Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Mohamed Hany, Bassem Ali.

Midfielders: Hesham Mohamed, Mohamed Sherif, Ahmed Hamoudi, Walid Soliman, Islam Mohareb, Mido Gaber, Akram Tawfik, Karim Nedved, Mohamed Fakhry.

Forwards: Walid Azaro, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Phakamani Mahlambi.

Al Ahly will face Ittihad of Alexandria in the league on Sunday, only two days after the farewell game that will be held at Riyadh’s Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
