Pedro Barny named new Ismaily coach
Portuguese manager Pedro Barny has been named as new Ismaily coach to replace resigning coach Aboutaleb El-Essawy.
Ismaily former manager Sebastian Desabre had departed from the club and left his job after receiving an offer to take over the coaching job of Uganda’s national team. Ismaily then resorted to El-Essawy as a caretaker for the senior team, who later on resigned following a series of disappointing results.
Ismaily announced on Wednesday they have settled on hiring former Manuel Jose assistant coach Barny as a head coach for the team.
The 51-year-old coach had a previous coaching experience at Portuguese club Boavista. He also accompanied Jose during his Al Ahly era and transferred with him when the former took over the Angola job.
Ismaily are currently second in the Egyptian Premier League table after collecting 42 points in 21 rounds. The Yellows had sustained a last minute 1-0 defeat to Al Ahly in their last fixture of the league.
