EXCLUSIVE | Interview with Deportivo Alavés’ Youssef Moharram
Former Wadi Degla and Atlético Madrid youth goalkeeper, Youssef Moharram, has found himself a new home at Deportivo Alavés.
Youssef Moharram is a 19-year-old Egyptian goalkeeper who currently plies his trade in Spain. A product of Wadi Degla’s academy, Moharram then moved Atlético Madrid’s U-16 team. He later transferred to the first team at Villaba before joining Alcobendas. The young keeper has also represented Egypt on the youth level for the U-17 team.
With the closing of the transfer window, Moharram has now completed a move to La Liga side Deportivo Alavés and has joined their B team. The team currently sits in seventh place just two points off the promotion play-off spots in Group 4 of the Tercera Division.
Youssef Moharram spoke to KingFut’s Sina Isaac about the move and his goal with his new team.
Sina Isaac: Firstly, congratulations on your move. How do you feel about your move to Deportivo?
Youssef Moharram: I feel happy for what I have achieved and will try my best on winning my place with the first team.
SI: What made Deportivo the best option for you?
YI: It was the best option for me because it is a big club and [the first team] play in the first division.
SI: Do you think your move will be a step to playing for the Egyptian National Team?
YI: I think my move to Alaves will make it easier to play for the National Team in the future.
SI: What is your goal for your time with Deportivo?
YI: My main goal now is to become the first option for my coach in the team and I will work hard to be the number one player in my position.
KingFut would like to thank Youssef for his time and wish him the best of luck with Deportivo Alavés this season.
