OFFICIAL: Al Ahly’s Fady Farid joins Omani side Al Nasr on loan
Al Ahly youngster Fady Farid has joined Omani side Al Nasr on loan until the end of the season, the Omani side have announced on Thursday.
The 20-year-old forward joined Al Ahly in 2009 and was promoted to the first team during Juan Carlos Garrido’s time at the club, however, he has never featured for the first team.
He was loaned to then Premier League side El-Sharkia in 2016, where he scored his only professional league goal against his parent club as El-Sharkia managed to get a valuable point.
Farid returned to Al Ahly after his loan spell expired, but couldn’t get into the squad and manager Hossam El-Badry decided to extend his contract and loan him one more time.
He becomes the tenth player to leave the Red Castle on loan this season and will hope he can return from his loan spell and challenge for a starting spot next season.
Al Nassr, who won the Omani League five times before, are currently third in the Omani Premier League with 24 points, 10 behind leaders Al Suwaiq Club.
