Saleh Gomaa: My ambition is to be with the team at the World Cup
Saleh Gomaa was recently loaned to Saudi team Al-Faisaly until the end of the 2018-2019 season after a turbulent time at Egyptian sideAl Ahly since joining from Nacional.
Al Ahly are well on their way to winning yet another title in the Egyptian Premier League and Saleh Gomaa was deemed surplus to requirements and was part of a move that saw Amr Barakat & Hussein El-Sayed shipped to Saudi Arabia for a combined fee of $2.5M.
Al Faisaly’s official Twitter account had recently tweeted that Gomaa is a valuable addition to not only a big club like Al-Faisaly but to the Saudi Arabian league in general.
In an official interview with the club, Gomaa emphasized how important this loan would be for his young career and how it could help him reach new heights while also mentioning his desire to represent his country at the 2018 World Cup.
When asked about his opinion on the new club, Gomaa said, “Al-Faisaly has a lot of exciting young prospects in the squad and are also in contention for titles this year. I hope I can contribute to that and become a fan favorite.”
Al Faisaly is currently third in the league table with 30 points, 9 points behind league leaders Al-Hilal with 18 matches played each.
