Volleyball: Al Ahly beats Zamalek in fifth round of Egyptian League

Al Ahly’s men volleyball team snatched a 3-2 win against eternal rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League’s fifth round.

The Whites took the lead, after a very competitive first set, that ended 26-24; however, the Reds came back in the second set and managed to tie the score with a comfortable 25-18 win.

Zamalek’s defense displayed an outstanding performance in the third set, and helped the title holders to regain the lead back again in the third set, after winning 25-18.

Al Ahly’s head coach Mohamed Meselhy, managed to fix his team’s third set mistakes and went back to tie the score once again after winning the fourth set, 25-17.

It was not until the fifth round, when the Reds managed to snatch the victory ending the set with 18-16 and claiming the two points, which brought them to the second place in the table with 14 points and one point behind, Talaa’ Elgeish. On the other hand, Zamalek grabbed a point and stayed at the third place of the table with 13 points.
