Marwan ElShorbagy wins Motor City Open Squash


just claimed the 2018 title winning three of five sets against Paul Coll in the competition’s final.

ElShorbagy defeated Mexico’s Arturo Salazar, Honk Kong’s Leo Au and Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez to reach the last round of the tournament being played at Bloomfield Hills.

In order to put his hands on the silverware, the Pharaoh triumphed in three sets with the scores of 11-9, 11-8 and 11-9 while losing the other two to New Zealand’s finest in what was nothing less than a marathon as the game lasted for 95 minutes.

The two times PSA Young Player of the Year Winner, attained $70,000 as he walked victories with the title on February the fourth.

In his own words the newly crowned champion tweeted.

“2018 Motor City Open Champion.. so happy to win my 8th PSA title here in Detroit.”
