Al Ahli name Momen Zakaria in AFC Champions League squad
Zakaria was off to a promising start with Al Ahli after netting three goals in his first three games with the team, despite not playing from the start in any of these encounters.
The Asian Football Confederation’s rules cite that each club has the possibility of registering four foreigners in its squad. The 29-year-old forward has been included in the Asian squad for the team’s group stage campaign in the Champions League, along with three more foreigners in Giannis Fetfatzidis, Claudemir and Mark Milligan.
The squad has seen the absence of Syria talisman Omar Al Somah, who has been on the sidelines for a lengthy period due to injury, and Tunisia international and new signing Amine Ben Amor.
Recent Saudi reports have indicated that Al Ahli have started their moves to sign Zakaria permanently, but Al Ahly loanee affirmed he is only focused on the short term and achieving silverware with the Saudi giants.
