EXCLUSIVE | Al Ahly youngster Ahmed Abdelkader joins Sparta Prague

youngster Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Qader ‘Hamdi’ joins following a successful trial with the Czech First League side.

Hamdi is considered to be one of the brightest talents coming up in Egypt, and he has successfully completed a move to Czech’s most successful side A.C. Sparta Prague. He becomes the third Egyptian to move to Europe in the winter transfer window after Ali Gabr and Fady Nagah.

The 18-year-old also undertook a trial at Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, but opted to join Sparta who offered him a better contract. Last October, he was also on trial at FC Basel.

The midfielder has also played for Egypt’s U-20 national team under the leadership of coach Hamada Sedky.

Sparta who won the league title 12 times are the most successful club in the Czech Republic. They currently sit fifth on the league table with 28 points, four away from second place Slavia Prague and 18 behind leaders Plzeň.
