In Al Ahly fashion, the players demonstrated their dominance in the first minute with pressure on the Arab Contractors’ defense. South African midfielder Phakamani Mahlambi opened his goal-scoring account with the Red Devils in the eighth minute after a great cut-back from Ahmed Fathi.

As the match was calming down, a corner from Ahmed Fathi was poorly cleared by the Arab Contractors’ defenders. After a few passes, the ball reached Walid Azaro who scored an emphatic shot for his 14th goal this season across all competitions.

A few minutes before full-time, Islam Mohareb attempted to get his name on the score sheet with a strong shot, but Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud managed to beat the midfielder.

In the dying minutes of the match, a series of passes between Abdallah El-Said and Junior Ajayi saw the former score from a one-on-one with Aboul-Saoud. El-Said’s goal was his 10th goal of the season.

The result extends the Red Devils’ lead to 12 points on top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 57 points from 22 games. Arab Contractors, on the other hand, remain in seventh place with 31 points from 22 games.
