Ligue 1’s Rennes terminate South African striker Kermit Eramsus’ contract
Erasmus has joined the red and black outfit in 2016 but has only made two appearances for the club in the same year since making the move from Orlando Pirates.
“Stade Rennais FC and Kermit Erasmus have early terminated the contract that bound them since January 2016,” the club confirmed on their Twitter account.
“The player is therefore free of any commitment. The Rouge & Noir wish him every success and happiness for the rest of his career.”
The 27-year-old has struggled to get playing minutes following managerial changes at the French club. The only appearances he made were under manager Christian Gourcuff.
He joined Lens on loan in the January transfer window of last year but has failed to make an impact and returned in the summer transfer window of 2017.
Erasmus is now a free agent and can be signed by any club following his departure from Roazhon Park and now looks to revive his career once again.
