Former Wadi Degla forward Junior Mapuku joins China’s Ever Bright

Former Wadi Degla forward  has joined Chinese League One side Shijiazhuang Ever Bright from Bulgaria’s Levski Sofia.

The Congolese forward joined spent only one season at Wadi Degla, scoring four goals and registering three assists as he helped them finish fifth in the Egyptian Premier League [their highest-ever league finish].

He then left to join Bandirmaspor of Turkey, but he found regular football hard to come by and rejoined former side PFC Beroe Stara Zagora on a free transfer.

During his time with Beroe, he scored 12 goals in 25 games as he helped them survive relegation. His brilliant performances earned him a move to Bulgarian giants Levski Sofia and he managed to replicate his fine form, scoring nine goals in 26 games.

However, after only six months with them, he headed to China to join second-division side Shijiazhuang Ever Bright, becoming their ninth winter arrival and their second major one after Alen Melunovic, who joined from Serbia’s Buducnost Podgorica.
