OFFICIAL: Mohamed Omar appointed Ittihad of Alexandria new manager
Ittihad of Alexandria board announced the appointment of coach Mohamed Omar as the club’s new manager replacing Spanish resigned manager Juan Maqueda.
The former Real Madrid assistant coach left the club after a disappointing run of results, winning just one game since his appointment, which left the club only one point above the relegation zone.
Mohamed Omar decided to end his current contract with Omani outfit Saham Club to lead the Alexandria-based club and take the team to a better position in the league table.
Omar said that he trusts the players of the team and thinks that they can surpass the current challenges and improve their position in the league avoiding relegation.
The coach will be accompanied by Mohamed Ibrahim as football director, Mohamed Nour and Tamer Abdel-Hamid as assistant coaches.
Ittihad of Alexandria are currently in the 15th position with 22 points earned from 23 matches. The team won a total of four matches only since the start of the season.
