Azarou, Ajayi net brace as Al Ahly down Arab Contractors

Junior Ajayi and Walid Azarou both scored a brace as defeated Arab Comtractors 5-2 in the Egyptian Premier League.

Azarou manged to open the scoring for the Reds just seven minutes into the game, as he concerted Phakamani’s low cross into the back of the net.

The Reds doubled their lead in the 15th minute, as Ajayi sent the rebound home following Phakamani’s saved shot, making it 2-0.

In the dying moments of the first half, Mohamed Farouk pulled one back for his side as his glancing header found the back of the net.

Just 10 minutes after the restart, Contractors won a penalty which was converted by Ahmed Ali who scored the equalizing goal from the spot.

Al Ahly then intensified their pressure in order to restore their lead. Just five minutes before full time, Ajayi took the lead for the Reds following a massive howler from Aboul-Seoud.

Islam Mohareb extended Al Ahly’s lead in the 91st minute following quality 1-2 play with El-Said.

Seconds before the full-time whistle Azarou completed his brace as he finished the ball into the back of the net.

Following the win, Al Ahly tops the league table with 60 points, 14 points ahead of their successors Ismaily and will match-up against Alassiouty on the 16th of February in the coming round.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
