Porto and Algeria winger has warned his side from the damage Liverpool star can cause when the two sides meet in the first of the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday.

Liverpool have been drawn Porto in Europe’s most prestigious competition on club level after finishing the group stage on the top of Group E with 12 points from their six games.

Salah extended his tremendous Premier League league form with Liverpool and took it to the Champions League too as he is the Reds’ top scorers in the competition with five goals.

“It will be a great match, with a lot of intensity. Liverpool is a very, very good team, very strong offensively, who presses a lot,” Brahimi told

“However, we will prepare well this game. We had other important encounters before, but we will be ready when the time comes.”

Brahimi emphasized his admiration for what Salah has been presenting this season with some kind words and hailed the Egypt international for his ability to showcase his talent, but also called his Portuguese side to remain attentive.

“He [Salah] is having a big season. He is very important to Liverpool, he has a lot of influence, he scores a lot of goals and is very decisive. We will have to try to stop him from doing what he has been doing since the beginning of the year. He is an excellent player so it is up to us to stop him from shining that day.”

“He was voted Best Player of Africa, he is a great player who was able to demonstrate the extent of his talent. I am happy for him, and it is a very good thing for African football,” Brahimi concluded.

The 28-year-old wideman made 34 appearances with i Dragões in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and delivering nine assists.
