Chelsea crush Hegazi’s West Brom with three goals
The Blues were in total command of the game and what made matters worse was Daniel Sturridge’s early injury, as the only chance the Baggies had in the first half was a wide shot from Jay Rodriguez.
The home side’s sheer dominance was so evident. Davide Zappacosta had a chance on target, while Olivier Giroud missed a couple of chances on his first start for the club, yet made the perfect assist to make the fans enjoy the magic of Hazard as he slotted in the first of the night.
WBA had the chance to level the game as Salomón Rondón snatched the ball off from Andreas Christensen, yet failed to hit the target, so did captain Jonny Evans, who fired a header that went over the cross bar.
However, things only got worse for West Brom when Victor Moses tapped in the second for Chelsea after a deflected pass from Cesc Fàbregas.
A few minutes later, Hazard single-handedly destroyed the backline of WBA and unleashed an unstoppable strike to make it 3-0 for his side.
West Brom are still without a win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since November 1983 and with only 20 points they are starting to lose hope to extend their Premier League journey for another season.
