John Aldridge: Mohamed Salah is like a little magician
Aldridge believes what Salah offers his former team could be only described as magic. “His second goal at the weekend against Spurs was probably his best one. He can score simple goals, but he also scores goals that he has no right to put away. People have likened it to Messi, and it was,” he said.
“He has got ten square meters to get past about three players and the goalkeeper and he is like a little magician, twinkle toes. What a buy. Everyone thinks about whether he will stay long term but you have to just keep on going and be positive.”
The former FA Cup winner finds it impossible to mark a football player like Salah with all the variety of goals he bags for the Reds.
“One of his strengths is the variety of the goals that he scores. You show him on his right foot and try to close his down, he just manipulates it and goes around the opponent on the left.
“How do you mark him with such a low centre of gravity? And his strength is amazing given his size. He’s a brilliant player,” he added.
