Henry wants Salah to win the Premier League Golden Boot
Arsenal legend and current Belgium assistant coach Thierry Henry has disclosed his desire to see Liverpool hitman Mohamed Salah claim the Premier League Golden Boot award, but admitted it is unlikely to happen.
Salah’s sensational form this season resulted in him scoring 21 goals in the Premier League this season, only second to Tottenham striker Harry Kane who leads the league’s goal scoring chart with 22 goals.
“I would like Mo Salah to win it. Just because it is a good story. It is a great story,” Henry said on Monday Night Football.
“Harry Kane also because he would win it three years in a row and that would be a great story. But Mo Salah, I don’t remember a player playing like that in his first season.”
This presents the best scoring season for the 25-year-old winger, having scored 29 goals in 35 games in all competitions this term, breaking some records previously held by Liverpool legends.
“People will tell me that it is not his first season, because he played at Chelsea before, but let’s give him that, this is his first season playing week in, week out. I think he brings something else to the game. I like the way that he plays, he goes in behind. But Harry Kane will be there.”
