Misr El-Makkasa crash out of CAF Champions League after draw

have crashed out of the after a 0-0 draw with in the second leg of the preliminary round. 

El-Makkasa lost the first leg in Senegal 2-0 making the second leg a must win for the Egyptian side.

In the early minutes of the match, El-Makkasa had two dangerous chances through Paulin Voavy and Eric Traoré. However, Génération Foot’s defense did well to clear the attempts.

Through the first half, the Egyptian side continued to press the Senegalese side’s defense, however were not clinical enough in finishing off their chances. Right past the half-hour mark, Voavy found himself one-one with the keeper and passed to Mohamed Mosaad whose touch was easily cleared.

The second half began unlike the first half with a much calmer pace between the two teams. Though Génération Foot played in a minly defensive manner, they began to dominate El-Makkasa towards the end of the second half. With the draw, El-Makkasa have crashed out of the competition after a 0-2 aggregate score against Génération Foot.

Misr El-Makkasa will return to league play, where they currently sit in 13th place with with 26 points from 23 games, on Sunday February 25 against Wadi Degla.
