Ahmed Hassan Kouka features as Braga beat CD Tondela 1-0
Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ played 60 minutes as Braga beat CD Tondela 1-0 in matchday 24 of the Primeira Liga.
Even though Braga had more possession during the first-half, they failed to trouble their opponents and up until the first minute of extra time, no attempts troubled Cláudio Ramos. Kouka then came dribbling past the goalkeeper but his shot was cleared off the line.
On the other handm Jorge Fernandes nearly opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute, but his header was saved by Braga goalkeeper Matheus Magalhaes.
Five minutes into the second-half, Kouka had another chance on goal but his volley was once again stopped by a Tondela defender. The Egyptian striker got subbed off in the 60th minute for Portuguese striker Paulinho.
For the rest of the second half, Braga expressed sheer dominance over the game, forcing Ramos to perform super saves, until striker Ricardo Horta finally broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 83rd minute, after an incredible volleyed assist by Wilson Eduardo.
With this result, Braga are currently fourth in the Primeira Liga table with 52 points, just four behind third-placed Sporting Club. They will be facing Estoril in their next game on March 23.
