Egyptians dominate Windy City Open Squash tournament semis

Nour El Tayeb and Raneem El Welily have reached the semi-final of , while an all-Egyptian contest has been set at the men’s semi-final.

El Tayeb came with the biggest shock of the tournament, when she knocked-out World No.1 , winning three sets of five. Meanwhile, El Welily dominated her English opponent Alison Walters, winning all three sets in a row.

An all-Egyptian Women’s final could possibly be underway if both El Tayeb and El Welily managed to beat Sarah-Jane Perry and Joelle King on February 27.

For the men, an Egyptian final is guaranteed in Chicago, as will face and will be up against Mohamed ElShorbagy in the semis after they knocked out Cameron Pilley, Simon Rosner, Karim Abdel Gawad and Miguel Rodriguez.

Four of the remaining six Pharaohs in the Windy City Open tournament are married and will be having their matches played consequently. Farag will be playing right before his wife El Tayeb takes the court, as El Welily will leaven the floor to Momen right after her tie.
