Sayed Moawad: Al Ahly aims to secure qualification against Mounana at home
Mounana have set a meeting against Al Ahly in the African competition’s preliminary round after overcoming Burkina Faso’s Rail Club du Kadiogo with 2-1 score-line over the two legs.
The Red Devils will host the Gabonese side on March 6 before flying to Libreville to play the return leg on March 17.
“CF Mounana is a dangerous team at home, we have to make the best of our first leg game in Egypt and achieve a positive result,” Moawad told DMC Sports.
“We hope to avoid what happened last season when we beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 and edged them with a 0-0 draw in South Africa in intense atmosphere.”
“Another goal is to secure the league title as soon as possible, afterwards we will have the opportunity to give chances to players who haven’t got enough playing time.”
