Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson praises Salah, recalls Chelsea time
Mohamed Salah had been in blistering form since joining the 18-time English champions in the summer of 2017, bagging 31 goals and provided 12 assists for the Reds in all competitions so far.
Henderson revealed his opinion about Salah’s previous move to Chelsea a few years ago saying, “I think playing in the Premier League before with Chelsea helped him because he knew what to expect of the physical demands in English football.”
“Mo has been incredible, from the moment he linked up with us in pre-season you thought, ‘This lad can play’ – but since then he’s kicked on again, and he’s going from strength to strength. Confidence has played a big part in that, and he’s playing full of confidence now,” Henderson continued.
Mohamed Salah has been an impressive influence on Liverpool’s attack and has made a perfect connection among Firmino and Mane up front and Henderson believes that all three don’t really care who scores the goals and are not as selfish as any striker may be as they enjoy each other’s success and appreciate the platform the team is giving them to make things happen in the final third.
“He’s scored so many goals, in so many different ways, and he’s been a massive influence for us. If he keeps performing at his current level, he’s definitely up there for the Premier League’s player of the season,” concluded the skipper.
