Marwan Mohsen: I’m working hard for a national team call-up
Al Ahly forward Marwan Mohsen has spoken about a potential return to the national team squad following a dream return for the Red Devils against Dakhleya.
Mohsen had suffered an ACL injury against Morocco in the quarter finals of the 2017 African Cup of Nations that kept him out of action for more than a year.
The 29-year-old returned to action as a second-half substitute against Dakhleya, scoring a goal and assisting another to inspire Al Ahly to a 3-0 win on Wednesday evening.
“I’m doing the best I can for Al Ahly and I’m also working hard for a National team return ahead of the World Cup this summer,” Mohsen told DMC Sports following the game.
“I have no problems being a substitute if that helps the team because that’s what matters. The league is not over yet and we need to prepare for each of the following games individually because at Al Ahly, we have to win every game we play,” he added.
Al Ahly host Gabonese side CF Mounana in the first round of the CAF Champions League next Tuesday as the Red Castle look to kick off their African campaign with a winning start.
