Report: Herve Renard to call Azarou for Morocco’s March friendlies



coach Herve Renard has reportedly decided to call up Al Ahly hitman for the national team’s preparatory friendlies ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Azarou has been on a firing form for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League as he is the current top scorer with 17 goals in 26 matches this season, in addition to his deciding goal in the Egypt Super Cup against Al Masry.

After his goal against Dakhleya in the most recent encounter for the Red Devils, The 22-year-old Moroccan striker have become the first foreigner to reach the 17th goal mark in a single season in the history of the Egyptian Premier League.

And apparently Azarou’s great showings haven’t gone unnoticed, as he is set to make a return to the Moroccan national team in their upcoming March camp for their friendly games against Serbia and Uzbekistan, according to Moroccan tabloid Al Ahdath.

The former DHJ striker has three international caps to his names with Morocco and will look to make the best out of the upcoming potential call in order to reserve a place in their World Cup squad.

Renard is also expected to summon WAC attacking midfielder Walid El-Karti and RS Berkane winger Ayoub El-Kaabi for the next games, per the same report.
