EXCLUSIVE | Nigeria to call up Al Ahly’s Junior Ajayi

’s senior national team are set to call up ’s to their squad for the upcoming friendlies.

Ajayi is set to receive his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles’ squad after impressing ever since his arrival from Tunisia, KingFut can confirm.

The 22-year-old has participated in 23 matches for the Red Devils this season, scoring eight goals and assisting nine as the team edges closer to a consecutive league title.

Ajayi won the league, cup and super cup since joining Al Ahly. He also led the team to a silver medal in the 2016/17 CAF Champions League.

His exploits with the team gave him a place on the CAF Champions League Team of Tournament.

The former 36 Lions and Sfaxien winger was part of Nigeria’s team in the 2016 Summer Olympics, picking up the Bronze medal in the tournament after making two appearances for his side.

Ajayi becomes the second player to get a call up to the Super Eagle’s squad from Egypt after Zamalek’s Moruf Yusuf who received his call last year.

Gernot Rohr’s men face Poland on the 23rd of March in Poland before facing Serbia on the 27th in the UK.
