manager Hector Cuper has named 17 foreign-based players for the team’s fixtures against Portugal and Greece.

The national team’s camp will be held in Switzerland between March 20 and 28. On March 23, Egypt will be facing Ronaldo’s teammates, while on March 27 the Pharaohs will be up against Euro 2004 winners Greece, as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

Cuper’s list did not include the likes of Vancouver Whitecaps’ Aly Ghazal or Bidvest Wits’ Amr Gamal, yet for the first time the Argentinian decided to call Hussien El-Shahat to join his squad, following the scintillating football form he has been offering at the UAE Arabian Gulf League.

The foreign-based players list:

Essam El Hadary (Al-Taawoun), Shikabala (Al Raed), Ahmed El Mohamady (Aston Villa), Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Al-Fateh SC), Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich Albion), Ali Gabr (West Bromwixh Albion), Mohamed El Neny (Arsenal), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Sam Morsy (Wigan), Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City), Omar Gaber (Los Angeles FC), Ahmed Hassan Kouka (Sporting Braga), Kahraba (Ittihad), Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet (Kasimpasa), Amr Warda (Atromitos F.C), Hussein El-Shahat (Al Ain).
