Elneny delighted with Arsenal’s Europa League win over AC Milan
Arsenal overcame their recent poor form with a shocking 2-0 victory over AC Milan away from home, thanks to Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey’ strikes.
The Egyptian international played only the last 10 minutes, after coming on at right wing-back to replace injured Calum Chambers.
However, despite playing only a few minutes, Elneny was delighted with the Gunners’ massive win, saying that the team will keep fighting.
“We were going through a tough phase and this was an important win for us to take our breath after a series of bad results,” Elneny told beIN SPORTS.
“We knew Milan was having a fantastic run so our main focus was to win the game. We will keep fighting in the league to improve our position,” he added.
Arsenal are set to host Milan at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, March 15 for the away leg, with a draw being enough for them to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Mohamed Elneny has made 24 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring once and assisting twice, winning the club’s Player of the Month award for January.
Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League with 45 points, 13 away from the fourth place and their next game will be against Watford on Sunday, March 11 at the Emirates.
