Manchester City’s David Silva destroys Stoke City with a brace

In the first half, Gabriel Jesus made a shrewd pass sending Raheem Sterling flying down the right flank, only for the Englishman to to make a pinpoint cross to Silva who slotted the ball in Jack Butland’s net to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

As the game went on the Citizens made their routine of dominating every aspect of the play until a moment of brilliance occurred between Silva and Jesus in a one-two pass between the duo before the Spaniard tapped in a beautiful effort with his magical left boot to mark his first brace for the club since 2014.

Sobhi played the last two minutes of the game, in only his second appearance for the Potters since the new Scottish boss took charge. The Egyptian has failed to feature for five minutes in the seven previous fixtures combined for Stoke City.

Manchester City continue their ruthless run, conceding only one loss in their 30 Premier League games this season.

Meanwhile, Stoke City are sitting in 19th position with 27 points, only ahead of West Bromwich Albion. They’ll next face Everton on March 17.

    Sobhi did feature today, but only for the last few minutes
