Al Ain back out of deal to sign El-Shahat permanently – Report
UAE league leaders Al Ain have decided to back out of negotiations with Misr El-Makkasa to sign winger Hussien El-Shahat on permanent basis, according to reports.
El-Shahat joined the Emirati giants in January on a six-month loan move in a deal that was worth 500K USD. The 26-year-old midfielder turned out to be a massive bargain for Al Ain after his tremendous form since joining the team.
El-Shahat has so far scored seven goals and delivered 10 assists in 10 official games with Al Ain this season.
According to reports from Emirati newspaper Al Ittihad, Al Ain are reconsidering the intent to buy-out El-Shahat permanently at the end of the season, following a meeting between the representatives of the Emirati club and Misr El-Makkasa in Cairo. The club hadn’t agreed a set buy option at the end of the season and due to this mistake, they may be priced out of a transfer for the midfielder after his exploits.
Al Ain are the current leaders of the Arabian Gulf League after 18 rounds with 41 points, four points away from second place team Al Wahda with four games to go.
