Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s father attends Al Ahly’s training session

Pierre François Aubameyang, father of Arsenal’s striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, attended ’s first training session in Gabon.

Al Ahly travelled to Gabon ahead of their game against Gabonese side in the return leg of the round of 32 in the CAF Champions League. The Red Devils already put one foot in the group stage after earning a 4-0 victory in Cairo earlier this month, thanks to goals from Marwan Mohsen, Walid Azaro and a brace from Abdallah El-Said.

The record eight-time CAF Champions League winners had their first training session at the Stade Augustin Monédan de Sibang with Aubameyang senior observing them.

The former Gabon national team player spoke highly of Al Ahly as he talked about the club’s great history, saying he was glad to watch them train. He also the trainers at the football academy he is in charge of to watch the training methods closely.

Aubameyang mentioned that it is a huge event for the football fans in Gabon to witness a team like Al Ahly. “Al Ahly won the first leg 4-0, it will be very tough for Mounana to make a comeback but they can learn a lot from facing Al Ahly,” Aubameyang said.
