El-Badry: We have to stay focused against Mounana

Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has urged his team to play with high intensity and stay focused when they face Gabonese side Mounana in the return leg of the round of 32.

Al Ahly have set a foot in the round of 16 of the African competition after their big 4-0 win against Mounana in Cairo to gain a comfortable first leg advantage.

But despite the result, the 57-year-old coach cooled down talks about an already secured qualification, saying that Al Ahly always aim for victory.

“There is no time to party; we have to shift our attention to the total CAF Champions League. That’s our destiny; we play to win all the time,” El-Badry told

“We have not qualified yet. There is 90-minutes to be played in Libreville and we have to stay focused. Mounana is a good side and we have to respect them in an appropriate manner.”

The Red Devils are without their playmaker Abdallah El-Said, who had scored twice in the first leg, in Libreville, but according to El-Badry they have things covered.

“We have suitable replacement for him [El Said], and I’m sure everyone will do his mission in the right way.”
