striker has opened up about his period in the Portuguese club ranks after reaching 100 games with Braga last week against Moreirense.

Koka signed for SC Braga in 2015 joining from Primeira Liga rivals Rio Ave. In his 100 games for the Arcebispos the Egypt international scored 24 goals and made 15 assists.

The 25-year-old forward appeared in 19 games this season for Braga netting six goals in all competitions.

“It is a very important milestone. I am very happy to have reached my goal of completing 100 games for SC Braga,” Koka told Braga’s official website.

“I have many good memories, but the best thing that happened in my career was the Portuguese Cup. It was a very special achievement for the team, players, fans and the city. One of the best things that happened in my life, an unforgettable thing. I work to improve every day and I feel very good. The more I play games the more I get confident.”

The Al Ahly youth product also spoke about his favourite goal, closest teammates and toughest opponent he faced throughout his career.

“My best display and goal were against Marseille in season 2015/2016. My goal against Groningen is another one I liked. Toughest defender I faced? Maybe Garay, but there are other good central defenders in the Portuguese league.”

“The Braga player whom it was easier to play with was Rafa Silva for the assists he made. I also enjoyed playing with Rui Fonte, Mauro, Luís Carlos, Josué, Ricardo Horta and Esgaio.”

“The loss of my father was the most difficult moment in my career. I was not expecting it and it was before a game. I had to be strong for my family, to stand up and show them I could get through this moment. My dad loved to watch me play and to see me happy. Fortunately I was able to play this match and score a goal for him.”

“It is different to play here [at Braga] because we have an ambitious president who always wants to win, just like our fans. They demand a lot from us and we are aware that we have to win when we take on the field.”
