Salah’s Liverpool draw Manchester City in Champions League quarter-finals
Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool have been drawn against Premier League leaders Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Reds secured their place in the quarter-finals after beating Portugal’s FC Porto 5-0 on aggregate, with all five goals coming in the away-leg at Estádio do Dragão.
Meanwhile, Manchester City knocked out Swiss side FC Basel after winning 5-2 on aggregate and will hope to qualify for the semi-finals for their only second time in history.
It’s worth mentioning that Liverpool are the only team to beat Manchester City in the Premier League this season when the Reds managed to overcome the Citizens 4-3 at the Anfield.
The first leg will take place at Anfield on April 3 or 4, with the return leg to be held on April 10 or 11 at the Etihad Stadium.
No Egyptian has ever managed to play in the Champions League semi-finals, and Salah can make history if he guides Liverpool to the semi-finals.
Holders Real Madrid will face Italian champions Juventus, while La Liga leaders Barcelona will be up against Mohamed Salah’s former side AS Roma. Five-time European champions Bayern Munich will face Sevilla.
