Wigan midfielder and captain has described the personality of Egypt international teammate in a recent interview.

In an interview with the Mirror, Morsy and his Wigan teammate Chey Dunkley were describing their friendship from childhood when the topic of Salah was brought up. “He’s my best mate,” said Dunkley jokingly. “But he would probably say his is Mo Salah!”

“Mohamed Salah is great,” added Morsy. “He’s a world superstar, but he’s so humble and he always makes me feel comfortable.”

Morsy went on to add the nature of Egyptian players being supportive of each other at club level, saying “I’m the only Egyptian left in the FA Cup. We support each other whenever we play. It’s a chance for us to make history. The club won the Cup, but to get to the semis as a League One club would be some achievement.”

Salah is quickly becoming a household name in England, and Morsy will link up with the Liverpool forward on international duty later this month as Egypt face Portugal and Greece in friendlies.

Wigan are the only team outside the Premier League left in the FA Cup, however they will take some confidence from domestic cup runs in recent years from the likes of Bradford and Millwall who reached the semis and the final of the League and FA Cups.

Wigan play their FA Cup quarter final at home against tomorrow afternoon at 1:30PM local time, or 3:30PM Egyptian time.
