West Brom edge closer to Championship after defeat to Bournemouth
Ahmed Hegazi played the full 90 minutes as West Brom fell to a 2-1 last-gasp defeat against Bournemouth on gameweek 31 of the Premier League.
Following their humiliating 4-1 defeat to Leicester City last week, The Baggies were looking to get their fourth victory in the Premier League this season. However, they fell to their seven successive loss on Saturday, which left them on the brink of relegation from the top flight.
After the first half ended in a draw, Jay Rodriguez opened the scoring for the guests four minutes after the break. The 28-year-old converted Kieran Gibbs’ cross from a close range to give his side a 1-0 lead.
As West Brom seemed to be headed for their first away win in 210 days, Jordon Ibe’s effort went past West Brom keeper Ben Foster to level the scoreline. One minute before full time, Junior Stanislas curled home a free-kick to complete the comeback and secure the three points for his side.
Following the defeat, West Brom remain bottom of the table, 10 points away from safety with just seven matches left. They’ll next face seventh-placed Burnley on Saturday.
