Former Arsenal defender offered some tips to defenders on how they could stop winger .

Salah was the star in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Watford at Anfield Stadium, as he scored four goals and assisted one.

Several pundits and coaches have praised the Egypt international for his recent performances but Sol Campbell believes he knows the secret to stop the Pharaoh from being such a threat. He thinks that defenders must anticipate what Salah is going to do and prevent him from entering the box with the ball.

“With Salah it’s good to have a bit of pace with him, you’ve got to have quick feet as well as a defender because he likes chopping and changing,” he said on Sky Sports.“You’ve got to have good anticipation against him, if you haven’t he will just do you, he’ll set you up.”

“Also I think you’ve got to go out to him quicker, don’t let him build up a pace to turn you inside out at that pace.”

The former England international believes that if a defender failed to stop Salah before entering the box, the 25-year-old will be in total control inside the area.

“If you get out to him quick enough, you can kind of slow him down a bit before he comes to you in the box. Once he’s in the box, he’s the master,” he added.

After scoring four goals against Watford on Saturday, Salah is now leading the golden boot race with 28 goals, four goals above second-placed Harry Kane.
