Emile Heskey: Salah is in exceptional form
Salah is currently leading the Premier League top-scorers race with 28 goals, four away from second-placed Harry Kane. The 25-year-old became the first Egyptian player ever to score a hat-trick in the Premier League. He also cruised past Fernando Torres’ record of 33 competitive goals for a debut player at Anfield.
“Salah is in exceptional form,” Heskey told beIN Sports English TV channel. “He’s a player everyone wants. You can give the ball to him and you know he’ll create something.”
After surpassing Luis Suarez’s goal record from the Uruguayan’s incredible 2014 PFA Player of the Year season earlier this month, Salah equalled Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler’s best goal scoring season on Saturday.
When asked if he thinks that Salah surpassed what Jurgen Klopp thought he is capable of Heskey said: “Yes, hundred per cent. Especially coming from Roma from another league, I know he played with Chelsea but he didn’t play that much.”
The 40-year-old argues that the Premier League is tough and it takes a while to settle in but Salah impressed everyone right away.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard also praised the young winger calling him “the best player in the Premier League, on current form.”
