Egyptian giants hand Mohamed Salah honorary club membership
Egyptian Premier league outfits Ismaily have handed Liverpool star Mohamed Salah an honorary club membership following his exploits this season in Europe.
After stunning the world with his wrecking-ball performances, Egyptian club Ismaily SC have announced the decision to hand 25-year-old Salah an honorary club membership.
It is common for clubs to hand those sorts of memberships but it is uncommon to award it to an active player as the case of Salah. Through a post on their official Facebook page, the club announced their decision.
The statement read: “We are proud that you belong to us. Whoever loves this club knows the art of football well and so, we are honored to award you and your father an honorary membership to Ismaily Football Club. We wish you the best because you are the best.”
Salah’s exploits have left half of Europe’s top teams dazzled and in chase to sign the Egyptian next summer. He has scored 36 goals in all competitions this season, with only the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo with more goals than him on the continent, 37.
The Egypt international is a clear runner for the English Premier league Golden Boot award, four goals clear of Harry Kane with the Englishman out injured until April at minimum.
With only eight rounds to go, Salah will be hoping to scoop up the award as soon as possible. The next player on the list in Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, who is seven goals away from Salah with 21.
